  • This cemetery holds two people that I will love forever and ever. My Mother & Father. Grafton & Leala Lowery.

Lowery family is so appreciated of how well the grounds are maintained and how beautiful the cemetery.

Mom & Dad I miss you so much my only comfort is that you are resting safe in the arms of the Lord.

    Love your daughter Vanessa Lowery-Gaines

  • A very important and well-kept Civil War era Military Cemetery that is still interring veterans and their family members to this day. It's out of the way for many people but worth visiting. There was a lot of essential Civil War history that happened in the region if you know where to look for it.

  • I am Carolyn A Reed Brown and My Great Great Grandfather William Wright was brought wounded down river on a boat to the military hospital located outside of the Cemetery in the village of Mounds. there was a measle outbreak & he died 2-16-1863. The weather was too bad to get his body home so he is buried in the Military Cemetery. We have gone for years and other cousins also go to his grave. It is beautiful & peaceful.
